REPORT ON CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT

Classroom management means to monitor the class with rules and discipline . The rules should be aplliedaccording to classroom atmosphere. While we specify these rules, we should consider about some elements.  These elements includes use of simple language, target language, visual aids, eye contanct , voice quality, logic, clearity and body language. According to us, important ones of these elements are body language, voice quality and clearity.

The first one, body language is a clue for students because it is easy for students to understand target language while the teacher use body language. Another point is that the usage of mother tongue decreases. Moreover, body language is related with communication. The second one, voice quality means that the teacher should use her voice tone according to classroom atmsphere if she wants to attract their attention , she uses her  voicetone at normal level. It is important to be adjusted the tone of voice by the teacherç Final point is that instructions must be clear beacuse the students understand these instruction very well thanks to clearity and so the teacher dosen’t need to repeat these instructionagain and again , which causes not to waste of time.

Signalling end of activity has a negative impact on the lesson since the motivation of students decreases when they know the end of activity. Furthermore, it causes chaos and noise in the classroom, which makes classroom management difficult.

When giving instructions , we make eye-contact with students, simplify the target language, shorten sentences and use body language. We think that explanation is not enough.

In conclusion , thank to this observation task , we learnt that we should set short sentences instead of long sentencences and simplify the language without using complex structures when giving instructions, we mustn’t ignore these points beacuse they remove handicap of being misunderstood.
