     SCHOOL  EXPERIENCE   REPORT     
     WEEK   9 – 10  
    TASK  1
      In these two weeks we were supposed to observe  the use of  blackboard .In the  classroom  the board is smartboard and the teacher used that board. Each week at the begining of the lessons she wrote the  unıt name on the board and then wrote the  vocabulary  which students were supposed to learn in this unit, and also the students were writing the vocabulary in their notebook at the same time. She gave the vocabulary with their Turkish meanings.  She used different colors  of board markers She wrote the  Turkish meaning of the vocabulary generally with  the red board marker for emphasizing the meaning.
    After introducing the vocabulary  she used the smartboard  for writing some  simple sentences  including  these vocabulary that she wrote before . But these examples were not much, only one or two sentences she wrote on the board. After these sessions they  repeated the vocabulary on the board so in this session the teacher used a stick to show the students  which vocabulary they needed to repeat . And sometimes she hit this stick to the board to make noise and take tieir attention to the vocabulary. And in the activity time, if there was something that students couldn’t understand  the teacher write it on the board .She used the board according to the activity . For example if there was a dialogue in the activity she wrote that simple dialogue on the board and asked for them to make that dialogue between each other . And at the end of the lesson  she wrote the homework on the board. But in general  she couldn’t take the adventage of the smartboard  and she rarely used the board .
TASK 2
We observed correction of mistakes in the classroom. Our teacher generally corrected the students mistakes automatically and sometimes signalled for self-correction for some mistakes. During the class when students did not make a mistake teacher always praise them and always says ;well done,perfect,great etc.. These motivates students.But when it comes to mistakes teacher should correct them.For some mistakes our teacher uses facial expressions. Students can understand if they made a mistake or not by looking their teacher’s face. And this makes students correct their own mistakes.This is very good point.
But sometimes,teacher signals for self correction. At these times teacher asks students’ Are you sure about this?,Really? ‘ etc.Students will be aware of the mistakes they did by means of these questions.And also,teacher corrects the mistake directly sometimes.When a student made a mistake for example when he/she said a word inaccurately,teacher immediately says no it is not the way you said.This is very wrong for a teacher. By doing this correction teacher make students feel ashamed. Instead  of this,a teacher can use the other correction way that we talked about.
