week 5-6

     For the weeks 5 and 6,we are supposed to observe the instructions that the teacher gives during the lesson and the classroom management.

    At the beginning of the lesson teacher used flashcards the remind the previous week,while giving instructions,she used Turkish.She merely used target language.The instructions are mostly in the mother tongue.Sometimes while giving instructions she used body language.For example while paintng the objects.

  Before starting to the activity,she tried to make students silent.For example 'Sessiz olun.','mavi kitabı açın,look at your books,open page 22.'These were not long sentences just short and clear instructions to make students understand easily.
 
    While giving instructions she mostly used eye contact,especially to point to the students she used body language but did not use miming and gestures.

    She only used flashcards for visual aids.She did not use videos or puppets or other materials for visual aids.She did not demonstrate something while teaching it,for example jobs.She mostly uses translation from the target language to the mother tongue.She just made students repeat the words they have learnt.There was no meaningful learning.When they forget the meaning of the word she helped them to remember the meaning.She gave positive reinforcement saying; ''well done''.

    In the activity she showed how they were supposed to do the activity.To be sure that they are listenning she asked some question to get their attention.

    Teacher said,''Birazdan kes yapıştır yapacağız.'' and she signalled that the lesson is finished and they will make something which they will like.


   For the pair work task,teacher did not do any pair work activity so we had not the chance to observe and report it.
